The amount designated as a retirement deduction in my budget reflects a pre-tax amount, as opposed to post-tax. My profile has selected the retirement deduction as a Roth 401K which means the amount should be post tax but the budget calculation doesn't account for that.
Our budgeting tools are set up such that you shouldn’t be entering payroll deductions into your budget. The amount of your total budget should be your take home, so budget items should all reflect things you pay for out of pocket, not deductions, whether pre- or post-tax.
