Editing budget changes budget for all past months

Mar 06, 2017 08:26AM EST

When I edit my budget it changes my past months budgets.

For example: If I change March groceries from $200 to $300 it changes February groceries budget to $300 also.

It didn't use to do this? Any way to fix this?

HelloWallet edits the previous month’s allocated spending amount, because it is attempting to have you normalize your spending habits so that they are consistent each month. If you are on your Budget page and select a specific budget item, you can see how much more or less you spend each month when clicking on “Edit Budget.” Here, HelloWallet reports whether or not you should consider adjusting this total based on your overall spending in that category.

If you are looking to utilize our flexible budgeting feature so you can plan your monthly spending in advance, this is currently available in our mobile application. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us at support@hellowallet.com, and we will be happy to help you further!
