I have two credit cards. One of which ("A") has a balance I need to pay down, but the other ("B") is used to make daily purchases and gets paid off every month.
So B's balance is much lower than A, and this causes the snowball method to prioritize it. Instead, I want to see A as the balance to tackle.
PS- Or perhaps am I missing something? Am I being implicitly guided to not use a credit card at all, and switch to using debit? (I would but my credit union isn't currently supported, so I won't be able to track my spending)
It sounds like you may need to edit this step in Guidance. Once you edit, you should be able to re-order which account you tackle first, just by dragging and dropping the card.
After you are able to pay down this card and you have more in your checking account than you have in credit card debt, you should see the option to move on from the Conquer Credit Cards step altogether since you should have enough to pay off the card in full each month.
Ideally, you should be using debit for you transactions or consistently pay off your cards in full.
Feel free to review the Conquer Credit Cards article to see if this makes more sense for you now, and if you have any specific questions or don’t see any of these options when you should, please email firstname.lastname@example.org to raise a ticket with us.
