I currently have savings to cover my health care out of pocket costs (I'm working on having enough to cover my out of pocket maximum). I had to have a surgery that cost quite a bit that I did not plan into my monthly budget; but I had enough in savings to pay it so I just took care of it. Do I need to leave those items on my monthly budget tracker or hide it? Right now with those charges showing in my budget it shows I'm spending more than I earn - If I hide it then I'm good. I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do.
Great question – this is up to you. Either of the options you presented are fine. Personally, I would choose to ignore the expense from the monthly budget, since you allocated savings to this expense.
